Hanna Antonsson
Warm Engine

In this exhibition, Hanna Antonsson presents photographic work alongside sculpture. A selection from this recent photographic body of work is featured in the new zine Warm Engine.

Antonsson works with sculpture and photography, drawing on animal perspectives and symbolic associations. Her work explores transformation and cyclical flows between life and death, nature and technology, as well as the human impact on the natural world and other traces of human intervention in the environment. The works often take hybrid forms and incorporate movement, both metaphorically and literally. In her photographic series, energy and change are rendered visually, while her sculptural works are activated by motors that introduce physical motion, creating an illusion of life and transformation.

Hanna Antonsson (b. 1991) holds a BFA in Photography from HDK-Valand, University of Gothenburg (2020). She has exhibited her work extensively in Sweden and internationally, including presentations in Tokyo, Warsaw, London, and New York.

Alfredo Cristiano
Mostly in a Round

On the occasion of the release of Alfredo Cristiano’s zine Mostly in a Round, visitors will be able to encounter the original body of work that led to the publication, consisting of over twenty paintings on graph paper.

Working through repetition, variation, and constraint, Cristiano’s practice unfolds as a sustained exploration of form and rhythm. The grid of the graph paper acts both as a structure and a point of departure, where intuitive gestures meet measured systems. His worn brushes introduce an element of chance into the process, producing irregular marks that lend the works a distinct sense of abstraction, where modest and unrefined materials are embraced for their particular qualities rather than their status.

Alfredo Cristiano (b. 1967) is a painter who lives and works in London. His work has been shown in exhibitions in both England and the USA. Cristiano gained a BA degree from the Polytechnic of Wolverhampton and an MFA from the University of Delaware. He has also worked as an assistant to the artist Ann Hamilton. His process often unfolds through work on paper and canvas, resulting in drawings, paintings and books.

Emanuel Cederqvist
Grimeton / Rocky Point

In this exhibition, Cederqvist presents works from the previously released zine of the same name, published in connection with his participation in the residency program In the Wake of the Waves by Art Inside Out (Region Halland), and originally shown at Grimeton in 2025. This marks the first time that parts of the project are presented in Gothenburg. Duvan is pleased to invite you to an evening where visitors can encounter both the works and the zine.

Cederqvist is a photographer whose work explores how we interpret and read the shapes of the landscape through personal memory, experience, and shared cultural narratives. His practice can be described as a form of visual archaeology, where perception and photography become tools for investigation. In his work, traces of human presence in the landscape reflect the passage of time, much like the photographic medium itself.

Emanuel Cederqvist (b.1983) holds a Master’s degree in Photography from HDK-Valand, University of Gothenburg (2018). He published his first photobook, What Remains (Blackbook Publications), in 2014 and has since released several books and exhibited his work in Sweden and internationally.

Fredrik Åkum
Cuckoo’s Nest

Cuckoo’s Nest presents a body of work consisting of five paintings on floor protective paper. The majority of these works were exhibited in 2025 with Galleri Cora Hillebrand at CHART Art Fair in Copenhagen, Denmark. This marks the first time the works are shown in Sweden as a complete body.

On the occasion of the exhibition, a small edition of a new risograph-printed fanzine, also titled Cuckoo’s Nest, is released. The publication functions as a complement to the works, bringing together photographs and drawings that have served as source material for the paintings, while also existing as a work in its own right, akin to an artist’s book.

Fredrik Åkum (b. 1987) lives and works in Gothenburg. He holds an MFA in Fine Art from Akademin Valand (2013). Since graduating, Åkum has exhibited at art institutions and galleries across Sweden and Europe, and has received several grants, including the Beckers Art Award, the Hasselblad Photobook Grant, the Swedish Arts Grants Committee Working Grant, and the Sten A Olsson Cultural Scholarship.
